AKA Fatimah bint ‘Ali al-Mu’addib al-‘Attar and Umm al-Fadl (death 480 AH/1087 AD)
Fatimah worked for the Seljuq Vizier, al-Kundari, and was even asked by the Abbasid caliph al-Muqtadir to pen the truce agreement between the Abbasids and Byzantines.
Ibn al-Jawzi said:
Her writing was extremely beautiful; she used to write on the pattern (tariqah) of Ibn al-Bawwab. The people practiced under her. She was invited to write the peace treaty [with the Byzantines.]
I heard Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Baqi al Ansari sayig: I heard Fatimah bint al-Aqra’ saying: I wrote a paper for ‘Amid al-Mulk and he gave me one thousand dinars. (i.e. her work was very valuable.)
